Maybe before you resort to a haxie...i would look at why it's bouncing... you are likely having an error when checking mail. Entourage always bounces the dock icon on an error - you can tell if you had an error but the warning triangle icon in lower right of the main window - click it to what errors Entourage has. You can also get to the Error log from the Window menu.
