There is always the brute force method: copying your entire Entourage
database back and forth. That depends on your making changes only on one
computer at a time, and then copying that to the second computer before you
begin to work there. The Entourage database is found in your
~/Documents/Microsoft User Data/Office X Identities/ folder, under the name
of your primary identity (by default called "Main Identity"). Contacts are
part of the main database file.

I'm glad you mentioned this Brute Force Sync Method, Allen. I travel some for my work, generally 3-7 days, about once a month, and carry a portable Mac with me at all times. After years of using Entourage in this setting, and trying a variety of methods, I still find that the simplest way for me to re-sync this laptop with my office Mac once I'm home is to do a search on my laptop for all emails as old as the first date of travel, and move them over to one folder on my office Mac. That's it, that's my syncing. I will then put away all those emails in the different folders that want them to go into (from saved to deleted, to specific folders). I don't do any other major changes on my laptop's Entourage, such as new categories, or new contacts. Instead, I just create one big Notes file, that says things like, "hey, make a new category "San Diego customers", or "new contact: Joe Smith, 124 Pine..."

I suppose if I was gone for more than one week, it would probably be easier to just replace my office Mac Identities with the one on the laptop, but after years of trial and error, this method is the simplest for me to remember.

Also, as a side note: I have become fastidious about backing up my Main Identity. Once a week, a repeating message pops up (from Office Notification) saying "Hey: back up." And I burn it onto a CD. How's that for high tech.

I am looking forward to Entourage 11...
