I think the message was just simple HTML, thus it was not affected by your
preference to not display complex HTML.

I have a question related to the e-mail backgrounds. A relative sends my
wife e-mail messages with photos attached. Wanting to keep the Database
trim, I usually save the photos to the desktop and put them in iPhoto, then
remove them from the message. However, the e-mails almost always have the
background image that we've been discussing. If I just remove the photo
attachments and not the attached background image, the background stops
displaying when the message is viewed. This can make the message very
difficult to read anymore if the bg is dark and the text is light. Is there
any way to prevent this from occurring?
