Hi Kirk,

Like Eddie said, the message was simple HTML so the preference had no
effect. Take a look at this method I posted on the Entourage newsgroup if
you're sure you don't want to see any HTML mail:

-------------------
The setting to allow and disallow the display of complex HTML messages only
concerns messages with tables and other elements that you cannot create in
Entourage HTML messages but can create in web pages. Most likely the
messages you're receiving have simple HTML and can be rendered by Entourage,
whereas the more advanced ones are rendered by Internet Explorer.

There's no setting to turn off the display of HTML , however, if you're sure
you never want to see HTML mail, you could set up a rule so that HTML is
removed from all incoming mail and the content is converted to plain text.

Download Allen Watson's free " Strip HTML " script and place it into the
Entourage Script Menu Items folder (HD/Users/<Your User>/Documents/Microsoft
User Data).
<http://www.scriptbuilders.net/?search= Strip +HTML>

Then, launch Entourage, and create a rule to run the script on all HTML
messages. Go to Tools -> Rules, click New, and create one like this:
* Execute actions if all criteria are met
IF Is HTML mail
THEN Run AppleScript Strip HTML

Click OK, and you'll find that all incoming HTML messages are edited to
remove the HTML.
-------------------

Hope this helps.

Hi Allen,

The e-mail you sent is definitely HTML; that's why it appears in Times New
Roman and why my reply to your message was in HTML. Take a look at the
source.
