I'm sorry to keep banging on about this but the issue persists. I have tested another installation of Entourage on another computer and it works as expected.
Is it worth me deleting some preference files? If so, which ones? Any clues appreciated. I shall mention again that I do get the desired behaviour (at least for outgoing mail) if I go into the Contacts tab of a project in the Project Center and right click on a contact and create "New Message To". That way the mail is associated correctly BUT not if I send the same message to the same contact using another method in Entourage, i.e. From the address book or from the mail folder. I keep thinking this must be a clue to the aberrant behaviour.
