You will have problems if you simply copy a Rules file from X to 04, or even
from one X identity to another. There is a fairly simple reason: Entourage
refers to folders and categories by their ID number rather than their name.
When you create a new identity and redefine your folders, the IDs are
assigned in the order of creation, and therefore can be different from one
identity to another. Same with categories. So any rule that refers to either
a folder or a category in a criterion or in an action is _almost certain_ to
function incorrectly, or not at all, in the new identity. A rule that moves
messages to a certain folder may move them to the wrong folder, or not move
them at all (it defaults to Inbox folder if it can't find the folder ID).
Rules meant to catch messages in Category X may start catching those in
Category Y.

Therefore, after copying a Rules file over, you must always go through them
rule by rule and either recreate any rule that refers to a folder or
category, or reselect the proper folder or category within the rule.
Deleting the old rule and defining a new one is often the safest path.
