Bob, Nice to have you back. I hope things are well? Did my calisthenics idea help at all? In any case I looked at the Nikon Forestry 550, and it seemed to do the sin height procedure for things above or below horizontal, but it was not clear to me that if you measured both a sin top ands sin bottom measurement for a tree or other object if it did both calculations separately and adds them together or whether it uses a common baseline for both calculations. if it passes your test, perhaps I will purchase one.
