ENTS, Lee, Many of you are scientists, and I don't know any other scientists, so I am hoping you can give me some guidance. I am trying to research a product that has just been approved for use in NY called Ovo-Control. It's a pigeon sterilization product.
Of course it's already up and rolling in Minneapolis, as I'm sure Lee knows. Hollywood CA is also gleefully tossing it out to the pigeons. And, since few people like or care about pigeons, there has been very little accessible research on the possible short and long term effects of this product. Lee, would your friend be willing to point me to some sources about this? I also would like information on the costs of implementing this program. I believe anyone can have access to this information under the "Freedom of Information Act". Or perhaps the University has information about pigeon annihilation techniques? Here in NYC, pigeons do not chase other bird species away. I have a flock of 20 + mourning doves who come to eat under my song bird feeders every day. I've had juncos, cardinals, finches, bluejays, red- tailed hawks, robins, starlings, sparrows, and kestrels come around too. All in a concrete jungle. Absolutely no green except my plants!
