I was wondering, since Canon makes great lenses, whether they make loupes?
I am looking to get one with a light table but I'm not sure what power to
get or
who makes a good one.

Ken,

Loupes can be expensive. Canon and Pentax make good loupes, Rodenstock
better,
and the best in the industry are the Maxwell Precision Optics Loupes.
They are pricey at about $200, but then again so are the Schneider loupes.
The difference is Maxwell are better at the edges and have better eye
relief.
For 35mm get the 6X loupe. It is perfect for a 35mm slide or negative.
They are a tiny company and exist primarily by government contract.
They are the prime choice for CIA, FBI, and other government forensic and
research labs.
You can call them at 1-404-244-0095 and speak to Bill Maxwell. He'll tell
you what is best for your application.
