Salty,    I can help a little.  I have a D30.  I just experimented. 
There
is no difference between 1/4 sec. and 30 sec.  Even if there were some
reciprocity you could see it immediately and keep adjusting the exposure
until you get it right.  That's one of the beauties of the D30.  If you
mess up, you know it immediately.  Throw bracketing out the window.  You
don't need to with the D30.

Noise.  I typically print 13x19 inch prints with my Epson 1270 on their
25 year heavyweight matte paper.  I cannot tell any difference between
Fuji Provia 100F and the D30.  Side by side, up close you might be able
to tell the difference, but not from normal viewing distance.  Photo
friends are amazed at how good the digital print is.  No noticeable
extra noise.

Pixel blooming.  Can't help you there.  I'm not an archeologist.
