Hi Ken, When I was buying recently I also was tossing up between the various
magnifications. I like the 4x but found in the end that with a *good*
lightbox I could see the compostion/framing/background fairly well by eye,
and used the loupe mainly for checking fine detail. I bought the 8x and that
has been working really well. I note that someone mentioned a 6x which
sounds like a good compromise but Canon don't have that option. When I am a
rich and famous photog I will probably get a 4x as well  :^)     or
not.................
