I'm going to keep my eye open for one of those. I think I've found an EOS1
plain grip in a bargain bin that might be useful.

I keep reading that sets of rechargeables should always be kept as a set
and charged together.

My NiCad charger looks like it does this sort of thing - there's an LED
next to each battery position. But that might be just a con!

They might be made up from 2/3AAs.

How have you arranged connection between the charger and pack? I presume
there is some kind of plug/socket on the real thing but knowing Canon its
non-standard.

Wow, they are cheap. www.7dayshop.com (Guernsey - where I buy my film) do
a set of four Panasonic 1.5Ah NiMH AAs for 9.95 UKP and a charger (that
only takes four) for 16.95.
