I have used MAHA NiMH AA cells in my 550EX since the day I got it. They
work well and last quite a bit longer than the NiCd cells did when I was
using them in my 540EZ. I have no experience with any other cells in
the 550.
I don't remember the capacity of the MAHAs off hand but they are at
least 1600mAH.
