Recent EOS cameras react so fast to light changes (E-TTL etc.) that pointing
them at a monitor for this purpose isn't a good idea, and trying to photograph a
monitor using auto-exposure (even with Tv set to say 1/2 sec.) produces a high
number of failures. Manual exposure should work given a long enough exposure to
smooth out the refresh. Hard experience a short time ago when I was trying to
prepare some slides for a presentation.
