Hi Miha,
That wasn't me... ;-) I have said many times that you have to compensate for
your subject, but I haven't make a cooking recipe of that. Although, I remember
somebody said that *for portraitrs of caucasian people you should use -1.5FEC *
some time ago.

Did you activate the link between the active FP and the flash exposure? i.e.
CF8=1 (If I recall correctly). Otherwise, regardless of the active focusing
point, the flash output will be metered from the central FP. That can be a good
reason to have a problem with exposure in this case.

The exposure latitude of print film will allow for 1 up to 3 stops extra
exposure (depending of the film) without presenting "overexposure" in the final
print. It's automatically compensated at the printing stage. You can see the
difference in the negative density, though.
Other than this, how is your experience with the EF500 Super ?? Are you happy
with it? Have you used a 550ex? Can you compare them?
