Second, it is better to use two or three smaller CF cards in case one card has a problem. If the (256 MB or 512 MB) card has a damage, then you lose less data than on a big 1 GB card. Third, the microdrive is a hard disk, and as a cause of this, not so shock resistant. Drop the card and you risk a hard disk crash and the loss of all your photos. I met a colleague last winter at the ice climbing worldcup. He was shooting with a digital body and microdrive. But the microdrive seemed to be frozen! The temperature was some 20 degrees Celsius below zero... Hope this helps.
