Perhaps, but I suspect there is a major difference in the approach: in
video, the focusing may be done by reading the imaging sensor itself
which means you have the full control over the entire video frame,
whilst in still cameras (at least a film-based, but also DSLRs) there
is a separate, CMOS dedicated focusing matrix with fixed focusing
sensor pattern.
