I am curious, however, about your 5D. I've thought about it (it seems a viable alternative to the lovely, but horrifically expensive DM-R!) and am concerned by something Tina Manley mentioned on another list. She bought one and said that while the camera was delightful, the battery life was incredibly short, compared to the 20D. Do yo find this so?

And, overall, how do you (or anybody here with one) like your 5D?

Thanks.

Cheers!

We bought our 5D bodies primarily because of the 35mm sensor, wringing WA performance out of our 20Ds finally got to us. The extra res, for instance, was only icing on the cake. That being said, we're more than delighted with the improvement in overall image quality compared to our 20Ds. Colors are richer, tonal transitions are smoother, detail is better (not necessarily sharper) and the overall "feel" of the image strikes us as better. I have found the 5D to go through batteries faster than the 20D, but not so much as to be a problem, more on the lines of 600 images per vs 800 per battery for the 20D.
