I researched this back when random images were going missing on my 20D. I
suspected the switch (or some part of that system right back to the
schmitt trigger prior to signal insertion to the main LOGIC) on the CF
door for giving me dodgy signals. Since the camera abandons the images
if the door is opened.

however my point is that CF cards are NOT as perfectly IDE interface to
cameras as you'd expect, if they were then LEXAR would not have
identified an issue with that card.
Canon fixed this with 20D Firmware 2.0.3

Interesting that in the link you posted Canon calls out Lexar CF cards but in their download section they state that FW 2.0.3
