I currently have my Metastock 10.1c EOD installed on my XP (32 bit) computer. I am moving to a Windows 7 Pro (64 bit) computer. Reuters Datalink is my data provider.
Before I do the move, I have several questions: 1. Will 10.1c EOD run on Windows 7 64 bit? 2. I have my original CD. Should I just use that to do the installation, or is there a better way? 3. I want to make sure that all of indicators, explorations, experts, favorites, etc. get copied to the new computer. My Ver 10 manual says if I am updating [which I am not] I should copy MS10FORM.DTA, MS10PREF.DTA, MS10EXPL.DTA or MS10EXPT.DTA AND ST10DATA.MDB. 4. I have both MS10EXPL.DTA and MS10EXPT.DTA on my XP. EXPL is a much larger file, but EXPT was updated much more recently. Should I copy over both of them? 5. I don't have a MS10PREF.DTA on my XP. Why is that? 6. Are there other files that I need to copy over? 7. Should I do the install first, and then copy over the files, or vice versa? Any and all suggestions are appreciated. Harry
