Marty, That happened to me upon a landing the ball
snapped off it's easy to figure out ,as you now know
the yoke feels conventional it turns- you don't.I went
merrily down the runway I tapped the brakes every
now and then to keep my track straight when i slowed
down I had NO control and the plane veered off to the
right by itself.Luckily it was a turnoff.I knew this
would suck >I pulled the plane clear an opened the
cowl to look sure enough it was a broken ball.Just as
I was looking at it someone behind me says "Got a
problem " why are you lokking at the engine I said
NOPE no problem It turned out he was an FAA accident
inspecter just happened to be there.I left the plane
there over nite got a ride home .Got a new part flew
back put it on and got the hell out of town with No
problemo Got it signed off .Just a note Replace it
with the newer rod end.DS 99564
