For some of us is the conversion to the later style steering not as easy as one might think. Some steering push rods need a complete replacement. That adds $121.44 ercoupe push rod (16.5625'') to the $81.55 sk-57 ercoupe steering kit Plus paperwork and hours one might end up paying an extra $400 for the conversion. One might say , It's worth the safety, but then from what I heard about the incidents where people lost control, it seems manageable. Things break, but having you saying 'NO Coupes MOVING with the old ball-style connector!' because of that is not justified in my eyes. Only because one person has made an update to his plane which he things is a essential improvement, does it not make one. Thinking that way I could demand that all Ercoupes should FLY only with split elevators.
