My header tank sight gauge also needs replaced, where did you find the
glass tube? Also, does anyone know if there is an STC to add on an
electric fuel pump for a 1966 Alon with and C90-16F engine? I had some
fuel flow problems this summer and now doing a Major on the engine and
plan
to check out all the systems......

Even if you didn't use certified parts your homemade fuel gauge can be an
approved part. This is considered an owner produced part and as long as
you own and operate the airplane yourself and an A&P says it's okay then
it
is an approved part, according to FAR 21.303b2
There's a good article about
this: http://www2.faa.gov/avr/afs/news/archive/Jul_Aug2002/Parts.htm
Unfortunately your A&P may be reluctant to sign off on a part like this
since it's his or her responsibility to ensure that this part meets
performance standards.
