I soloed a C-152, N757UW, after 3.48 hours of dual, in 1978. My
instructor tried to send me to the examiner to get my PVT with about 38
hours.... I tried to tell him I needed 40... I did...

4 hours is not so uncommon...

In 1973 I soloed a Bird Dog with 4 hours in the log books.... but I had
a number of orientation flights....
and took ground school twice..... Civil Air Patrol has changed over the
years....

With all the liability laws we don't let them "solo" Microsoft Flight
Simulator until they have a 100 hours

I soloed after only 4 hours of dual.
It was in a PA11 supercub. Four hours was quite uncommon in 1967 as a
minimum of 15 hours was required by ICAO rules.
After all these years the cub and I are both still airworthy, though
the plane looked a lot better than I do after a restoration in 2002.

Does everyone remember the tail number of the plane they first soloed
in?
