A few months ago, there was a lot of disparaging discussion on the basis of only about 70 not previously licensed Sport Pilots having achieved their license. Part of the criticism was because the majority of those were Sport DPE and Sport CFI getting licensed. It seemed at that time that very, very few new pilots had gotten a Sport license in the first year. Some pessimists are holding out for total Sport failure as abject as Rec. Most of us are expecting a slower growth than predicted but still a medium good final result.
