All:

I believe, if I am not mistaken, that EAA, not AOPA, was the driving
force in working for perhaps ten years with the FAA to bring the Sport
Pilot ruling into creation.

If I had a question regarding Sport Pilot and/or LSA eligibility I would
address the question to EAA as the single best source of info
(individual FSDO's not withstanding).

They are the organization I look to protect and attempt to expand the
Sport Pilot rule.

Any owner of a vintage aircraft is well served by being a member of EAA.

Ed,

I know they are allowed to be converted, that is my point. The
discussion is about what is allowed as LSA. We need them to allow the
back conversion to be allowed as LSA. This should be easier to get
approved then a gross weight change I would think.
