I've read a few of your responders, but saw none from South Carolina. Look into our state for retirement. I moved here 33 years ago so I can't say if I would have picked this area when I retired, but I can say we won't leave. I keep my Ercoupe hangared at FDW, about a 30 minute drive from my home. There are numerous air parks in the state where you can have a home/hangar but I don't know about the prices. A bit above your posted price I fear.
We live in Columbia, about dead center in the state. No snow to speak of in several years. Sure, a few cold days in the winter but none that prevented me from flying. The 'Coupe has a fair heater and the greenhouse is sometimes too warm to be kept completely closed. All in all, SC is far enough south for us ... year round. C'mon down. Drop me a line and we'd be glad to put you up for a few days and show you around. --- In ercoupe-flyin@yahoogroups.com, c.d.gu...@... wrote: > > > > Friends, > > We playing with the idea of moving to Florida for retirement, within a 60 > minute drive to the Gulf side. Of course, a nice grass airstrip in the > vicinity would be nice too. We don't know all the pros and cons of such a > move, but let's start with a hangared home for the Ercoupe first and a house > budget of $150,000. > > Any information would be greatly appreciated. > > Darick and Donna >
