I got distracted by a discarded AlphaStation 300 and wondered if it
would run Etoile, but GNUstep base from CVS won't build (on Debian
Testing). Anyone else having problems with 64-bit, or is it just me?
Well, GNUstep doesn't use CVS any more. They've switched to SVN.
As far as I know, GNUstep should build fine on Debian, on all of
Debian's supported architectures, including alpha. An older version
is currently in Debian (the release before the latest official GNUstep
release). If you can give any more information on the build failure,
I'd be very much interested in it -- you can contact me in private if
you want. (I'm the Debian maintainer for the GNUstep libraries, so
any porting bugs that can be fixed now means less work when I prepare
the Debian package.)
