For now it is good to know, that the developers are working on it. Difficult to say "complete desktop solution" because I experienced that also many things in Gnome or Mac OS X don´t work as they should.
I tried Trisquel instead of Ubuntu for some weeks, it was not bad but I am not a fan of systemd so the decision will be at the end between Gentoo and FreeBSD.
