If you ask me, it is a good idea to understand what Etoile is going to be like. If it would even have the file and folders rather documents with multiple representations, tagging et al. ie. AFAICR Etoile isnt cloning OSX but some gathered ideas from Taligent? I dont know where this discussion is heading w/o the final idea from GUI designer. But I think this icon and theming discussion doesnt or having very little to do with Etoile at the moment.
Once we are at the point we can discuss about it again. And I will render/paint these icons for free, I am one of a few artists who actually understand the NeXTism of icons. But for now I am too busy coding..
