Slack n sound

At Thursday's meeting Neil helped me with getting sound to work. 
Unfortunately my note taking left something to be desired.  Neil,
 are you there?
What was the web page you recommended to update the sound
drivers?
What was the command you used to see the device list that showed
the sound drivers weren't loaded.

Slackware 7.0
Kernel 2.2.16
Soundblaster PCI (es1371, Ensoniq rev 7)

With the kernel update applied, there are no errors now.  No
sound either.
