For the masses sometimes its about elegance and design. I personally have no real interest in, or need for, a cell phone, but I found myself sucked in to the commercial Saturday night. Then I learned that it will have a full version of Safari; not the wimpy PocketPC (Word, Excel, IE) Jornada PDA I got for $500. Handspring was better, but I HAD to have the color display at double the price.
Killer App was the wrong term. Category Killer might be more apt. I still use my Jornada w/ original battery. HP's design was great, but MS software sucked. It wasn't really workable till a upgrade came out a year and a half later for the sync software. It's just technolust (that dates me.) Just making my prediction. We ought to have a betting pool on tech toys. On 6/13/07, Ben Barrett <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote:
Cellphones are overrated... iPhone brings the "web pad" experience to the masses. Maybe. What do you see as the Killer App? A decent mobile browser? The main thing I see in it is the multi-touch, and if they can bring that to MacBooks and iMacs, as well (as has been rumor-milled), then I say *that* will be the genius-maneuver. Consider http://nokia770.com/ http://nokia770.com/category/nokia-n880/ and so forth... or PSP, etc -- with VoIP. ben On 6/13/07, Brian Gallagher <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > Steve Jobs is a F'ing entrepreneurial genius. > _______________________________________________ EUGLUG mailing list euglug@euglug.org http://www.euglug.org/mailman/listinfo/euglug
