I got my accessories like a year ago, so my stuff is a little out of
date compared to what's available now. Basically, I have one little card
that fits in the DS game slot - this card lets the DS boot up into "DS
mode" (as opposed to GBA mode) but still have access to the larger GBA
card slot. So then you get a second card that fits in the GBA slot that
takes either MMC/SD or Compact Flash. When you boot up, it shows you the
files and folders on whatever flash memory card you're using and you
pick what you want to run.

I use DSOrganize to listen to mp3s. It's kind of a kitchen-sink app -
has some cool little tools like an image viewer, text/HTML file reader,
a calendar, to do list, etc - stuff that would be great if there were
only some way to sync it :/ Also it has an IRC client (I don't do much
IRC anymore, but it's a pretty neat feature).

I have a CF version - with a 2GB CF card (plenty of room for homebrew
and mp3s). The CF card sticks out a bit more than the MMC/SD's
obviously. Newer cards take MicroSD cards and don't stick out at all
(and 2GB MicroSD cards can be found for like $20).
