I have done the volunteer for a free computer program for both what is
now NextStep (Lane Computer Recycling 3 years ago) and Freegeek 5
years ago and irregardless of the open source agenda of Freegeek
versus a different approach from Nextstep, it would be nice if
Nextstep would advertise the hardware people can earn the way Freegeek
does.

Personally if I was to volunteer for a free old computer now, I would
be looking for a sidekick "igor machine" for tinkering and testing out
varioius Linux distributions and security software. I think there is
always going to be an element of people who do that kind of tinkering
as a hobby who know where all the software is they need online, don't
need anything pre-installed, and would be more likely to volunteer for
Nextstep if they only know the kind of hardware they could earn and it
was comparable to what a Freegeek volunteer could earn.

Other than that. I support Nextstep anyways because I live here and
don't care to move back to Portland and also because I want computers
to be recycled. I want there to be a humanitarian relief and charity
for non-profits. I appreciate the good work.

I'll always look for bargains Nextstep's thriftstore. Even though
used optical mice there are $10 when I can buy a brand new one at Big
Lots for $7. I've got some bargains there on other parts in the past.

Thank You for reading this and the prompt response.
