Thanks Mike, I've already begun to consider this.  I've now got a source 
for a "special" ADC 8" that can handle 192V easily.  It's been beefed 
up, apparently it was a limited run from ADC.  It sounds kind of like 
the XP-1227 to me, but I don't have the exact model number yet.  This 
motor would let me keep my 8" adapter plate and still go to 192V, while 
drawing less power than a 9".  How does that sound?

I talked to my battery supplier about the Optima group 31s today, he 
said that they were supposed to come out in April but that their release 
was pushed back.  They're supposed to arrive sometime in the next month 
or so, but their initial prices will be astronomical!  Their web site 
says $200 each, but he said they'll probably be selling for more like 
$290!  Ouch.
