I have never talked to anyone who though they spent to much(bought the good stuff) when they got there project done, most wish they had spent more (and do on there next one), wish I had NiCd's . Sounds like your unlit EV candle is starting to smoke. Of course a video of the EV races with all the EV star's in it would change that smoke to a fire .
