It's a bit of a toss up - DIY vs. store bought EV.

LEAF - factory warranty, lots of creature comforts that are guaranteed to
work all the time, decent range and performance, comparable price to what I
could build with the same performance (after gov't rebates and last year
model rebates, etc.)

BUT it looks like a potato, as stated earlier and is simply an appliance.
I'm too much of a petrol head to replace my car with an appliance, which is
why a fun conversion of a (enter your favorite car here) is better in my
books.

You could call it taste. Some people want an appliance, some don't. The
LEAF is perfect for many and inadequate for some. That being said, I really
want a Tesla....
