yes, I like that idea, We had a small diesel also(that could be made easy removable, if you had liked that) put in the "frunk" of the small e-Mercedes A class, this was some 5-6 years ago that my friends built the cars, the batt pack was all below the inner floor, just as the Merc Designers made it from the beginning, and a bolt on flat pack that can be easy to remove. And below the battbox is just a flat bottom panel, it can be simmilar to the tesla S. but here the batt is not a part of the normal cars structural design, a bit more freedom for lab with different designs / tech. For such a small car it is really a *huge* space there below the floor for all batteries and stuff you would need, you could easy do a very fast swap-system, probably also a dual pack design and put an extra one with no change in weight distributions. So if you like that "CD-bay"-idea for extra range, go pop in an extra energy batt and just add up the rented new capacity to your normal light 70km "sportspack" range. -Or maybe slide in a 20% eff 15kW steam engine + use the space for 800kWh storage of biomass?? :-) /John _______________________________________________ UNSUBSCRIBE: http://www.evdl.org/help/index.html#usub http://lists.evdl.org/listinfo.cgi/ev-evdl.org For EV drag racing discussion, please use NEDRA (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/NEDRA)
