Ditto for Seattle. In Seattle, the current fleet will be replaced next
year with models having regen and extra battery capacity to allow
running "disconnected". That will make them even more of an EV than
before!
It's true that with trolley lines, the routes are fairly fixed. However
the buses are quite maneuverable and can span three lanes with one set
of wires, although it's usually just two.
I'm hoping someday that, using quick charging, buses can be fully
charged at each end of their routes making it practical to eliminate the
use of diesel buses. And to do so without overhead wires.
