I thought the deal was for 100k Chinese EVs. Was that over 2 years?

The EU's somewhat understandable protectionist instincts have been nagging
them, and they're resisting Chinese EVs here. But I keep seeing more and
more BYDs, typically grossly massive behemoths about the size of Range
Rovers.

Meanwhile, as I mentioned in the other post, the EU automakers are taking on
China pretty aggressively. Their main tricks are using smallish LFP
batteries, streamlining parts count, and manufacturing in eastern European
states. The new Twingo is built in Slovenia, and Stellantis is planning to
stop building cars at its Poissy (near Paris) plant by 2028.

Despite their efforts, I think it's likely that BYD and Chery EVs will end up
doing to the world's long-established automakers what what small Nissan and
Toyota ICEVs did to them in the 1970s.
