Thanks for the response!  I probably don't keep vehicles all that long either.
But usually because I run them into the ground.  I have been nursing a 2002
Honda Insight with no AC for about 4 years now and I feel it is a really good
time to upgrade to EV since The Straight of Hormuz is bottled up tight.
Resale is a good point all though I am hopeful to keep a brand new EV for MANY
years to come.  I have no problem with the bells and whistles being shut down
because of the bankruptcy.  I guess I could get lucky and avoid an accident for
a lot of years OR I could get in an accident a year after purchase.  I guess it
is a crap shoot.

That’s way too general to give a good answer.
How long to you keep a vehicle? Does resale matter to you? What’s the
reliability stats on the car?
I’ve had a model 3, a model S, a Mitsubishi I-MiEV, a cybertruck and one I
built myself.
We rarely keep a vehicle over  5 years. All of them had no issues and no
maintenance aside from tires and wipers 12v batteries and such.
EVs are great and I assume it’s reliable but based on you looking for something
cheap makes me think you hang onto cars a while.
Eventually something will go wrong.

Who would buy a Fisker Ocean right now?  With Fisker in bankruptcy, is it a
bad idea to buy one of these car? I am looking for a cheaper used car.  I found
one in Long Island NY for about $20 K.  It looks like the right car for me and
my two big dogs.  But am I insane to buy into a car that I will need to service
completely on my own?  I am a Mechanical engineer so I am not a total nube but
I won't be able to get any parts and that is obviously concerning.
