To be fair, though, it's not just BEVs. I had the same experience - the big
oh-no red bang and cryptic error codes - when the SLI battery on my 2005
Toyota Prius started getting flaky.

I suppose it could be because some are still in beta test and we're the
testers. :-\

It may also be more brand-related than build-date related. FWIW, What Car
does an annual EV reliability survey. If you're in the US, probably most of
the vehicles on it won't be ones you know, but you might still find it
interesting.

The Leaf did quite respectably, landing in third place, just behind the BMW
i3 and i4.

So did the Hyundai Ioniq 6 (why do they insist on spelling ionic with a Q?),
one notch below the Leaf.

Tesla M3 was #8. No other Teslas were on the list; no idea why.

The hall of shame at the bottom: Hyundai Ioniq (to 2022), Hyundai Ioniq 5
(2021-), and Porsche Taycan.

For US-market EV reliability rankings, you might try Consumer Reports.

The primary purpose of the DATA statement is to give names
to constants. Instead of referring to pi as 3.141592653589793
at every appearance, the variable PI can be given that value
with a DATA statement and used instead of the longer form of
the constant. This also simplifies modifying the program,
should the value of pi change.
