Yes, most automakers are still using Lead, and thus the charging systems
are made for lead.   You have to be careful dropping LFP into a system made
for lead, it can cause (expensive) problems.

Tesla now uses a tiny ternary lithium in their cars.   Not sure why they
didn't use LFP.   They haven't been without problems either.
