I accidentally replied to a different thread with my thoughts on the matter.

I don't have a preference as I will be using both OFTC and Libera going forward, since most of the Freenode channels for the other projects that I follow are moving to Libera, and I already use OFTC to spy on Koha and a few other projects that were not on Freenode.

Should we put this to a vote in the next IRC developers' meeting? As always, anyone present in IRC can vote. It is not limited to just the developers.

I realize that the EOB will also be affected by this decision, but I think the developers would be most affected.

I like the convenience of OFTC and we already have a presence there.  I do wish they had a non-discriminatory statement as Libera does.

Galen, thanks for raising awareness about this issue.  I read up a
little, and it all seems very odd and messy.  Too bad.

My slight preference would be a move to OFTC.  Libera.Chat appears
to have been born out of this conflict, and I'd rather see us
distance ourselves from the whole thing.  Lots of folks jumping on
the Libera bandwagon, but OFTC has proven longevity.  Plus, being
    with Koha would be cool.

Libera's moving fast; as of today, a built-in web client is
        available.
