Hello, I was just trying out ClickSend.com because they have a paid option for email to sms gateway for sending to any carrier, and it kind of looks like that might be a drop in replacement for the current evergreen email to sms gateways.
Setup an account and pay for a number and message credits. And then in evergreen either add an sms provider entry that uses their gateway, or update all the non working providers if you know which ones they are, to use @sms.clicksend.com instead of the current gateway. And it should just work as a drop in replacement unless I'm missing something. Has anyone tried this out? It looks like textmagic.com also has this feature, but costs more. We recently had a staff member ask how they could text a customer without having to use their personal phone, so I was just looking for an easy way to set that up for one off messages. I'm picturing updating the patron information screens to provide a mailto link to the sms number+gateway that staff can just click on, and then use their email client to send the messages. It would really be great if there was just a messenger built into the patron account interface that could just keep the conversation there like some customer relationship management systems provide now. I love how my mechanic can send me questions via text right from their CRM system. But that will take more work.
