I'm not familiar with that particular service but I suspect they aren't relying on SMS gateways but rather turning into direct SMS messages, similar to how MessageBee and other services do. For one offs that's probably fine but for any significant volume you would probably want to set up a campaign and get it approved so they aren't considered spam.
