Well, that was the first thing I did when I started hacking on
Evolution. I had a patch that brought up a dialog when you first ran
evolution that asked where you wanted to install the evolution files in.
It wrote the path out to ~/.gnome/evolution I think. The general
consensus at the time was that no-one really cared about it. It would be
more work now as more code is hard coded with ~/evolution/config and
stuff, but changing that into the proper thing isn't too hard.
