Did you have existing Exchange 2000 Front-end servers? Your reply
didn't indicate whether this was the case. When you run Exchange 2003
setup, it will detect if you have existing 2000 FE servers and will not
let you proceed (at least this is supposed to be what happens). This
ONLY applies to FE servers though. You can have as many 2000 Mailbox
servers (Back-end) as you want.

Conversation: Installing an Ex2003/W2003 server into a Ex2000 ORG

No sir, I added 2 new Ex2k3 servers into my existing org/site, one being
a FE and ofcourse the the other a BE. You do however need to upgrade
your schema in prep for E2003. But I don't think you'll need to upgrade
the ADC unless you have E5.5 still in your domain (but correct me if I'm
wrong), since your domain and Exchange are replicating already.
