If you can do that kind of coding, you're way out of my bush league.
Can't tell you anything solid about Recovery Manager other than hearing
occasional reports of miracles.
This may seem looney, but have you tried doing an Exchange backup of the
corrupted store? Who knows, it might just work. And then you put it in a
recovery storage group, where you may be able to get away with a lot more.

What version of Exchange are you talking about?
Ex2003 standard. I took a quick look @ recovery manager, seems more
targeted at restoring from backups, not exporting from partially working
stores. Does it indeed to a better job than ExMerge?
In the mean time, I've written a better ExMerge. I'm currently running
though my mailbox exporting 1000s of messages the ExMerge simply
skipped. Hardly an ideal setup, but oh so much better than ExMerge. But
I'd still like something more tested than my solution.
