What about this... create a new database and do a 'move mailbox' to get all
the intact mailboxes out of the mailstore first. You may find that the
number of accounts affected by the corruption is relatively small.

Do you have a test system available that you can use to clone your
production environment and test recovery options?

>If you can do that kind of coding, you're way out of my bush league.

Frightening thing is, it's not that hard, I actually did my proof-of-concept
as a macro in outlook... Yes, it's just about that trivial! Which is why I
can't believe the ExMerge is as bad as it is.

>This may seem looney, but have you tried doing an Exchange backup of
the corrupted store?

Backup won't process it. Get's about 6 Gig into the backup and then fails
w/the ESE 474 messages in the event log. Unfortunately since it started and
created a backup file (granted an invalid one) our monitoring process didn't
register the backup failure so we've been doing "invalid" backups for the
past 2.5 weeks, hence we don't have a valid backup any longer since we only
hold them for 1 week.

I downloaded recovery manager, but I've not gotten a key in my inbox yet,
guess I need to wait until Monday morning. <Frown>
